Yesterday I wrote about the new FTC rules that require us to attach disclaimers to our testimonials stating the average or typical results and even point to the actual data that validates the claim in the testimonial.
As I was at home trying to relax by watching a little tv to numb my mind I was getting bombarded with commercials from 2 different politicians, each calling each other liars and stating opposite facts than what each is claiming.
Now, let me just say first, I live in Maryland and both of these guys are from Virginia so I am being forced to watch political commercials from another nearby state. And, I am not a politics person. If I lived in VA I probably would not vote for either one because they are acting like children.
But it got me thinking, where would I go if I really did want to find out the “REAL” information. Since we as internet marketers now have to provide proof to our claims in our testimonials, I think that politicians should also have to provide the source to the claims they are making about the other candidate. I personally do not vote down a party line. I vote for whoever I think will get the job done the best and has the best experience for the office they are running for. Both the republicans and the democrats have their good and bad parts and as parties are equal in my mind. So I put a lot of weight in the person who is running. But such a negative campaign makes it difficult to get the real truth.
If the person throwing the negative comments had to prove that his claims and comments about his opponent were true and provide the source of information it would be much easier to get to the real truth.
Anyways, this is just a rant, needed to get that out.

Politicians are such hypocrites. They should have to put disclaimers on all their election promises because so much of it doesn’t happen.
