Results from Last Week’s Survey
Filed under: Internet, Internet Marketing, Just for Fun; Tagged as: search engine usage, survey resultsNo CommentsLast week I did a quick survey of how people search for local businesses and services. I did it as an experiment and although I am not surprised by the winner I am totally surprised by the difference between the winners and losers. I was not expecting the difference to be so dramatic.
Over the weekend the total number of people I had take the survey was 519, thank you everyone for taking the couple of minutes it took to take the survey. Below is the results from the survey and how I interpret what they mean. Read the rest of this entry »

Step by Step Hackintosh
Filed under: Just for Fun, Technology; Tagged as: Apple OSX, hackintosh, Mac OSX, macintosh, Snow Leopard2 CommentsA while back I got on this micro-continuity kick and reserved a bunch of step-by-step-something domains. I have gotten a few online already but still have a few more to go. The next one I am very excited about and it is coming together now. After the end of the month when the current site I am working on is finally 100% live (25th is the official live date) and the kinks are worked out, we are going to start taping this new micro-C video series on how to install Mac OSX on PC hardware. These devices are lovingly called Hackintosh’s.
We are going to walk step by step and show you how to put Mac OSX on a Read the rest of this entry »

New Social Network mybeespace.com is online
Filed under: Just for Fun;No CommentsAnyone that knows me knows I do not sit still for long. I have to be doing something. Well, my latest working on something just went live officially. I am still working out the tweaks some but I just put a new social network online last evening. It is not a social network for everyone though. I mean it is clean and all but is focused on people that have honey bees, beekeepers.
I myself do not raise bees yet, but plan on it in the fairly near future. When I was out learning about bees I found there was not many resources available from a social networking perspective. In fact, I really found none. I found lots of resources to read and learn but no where you could go if you were a new beekeper and ask questions. Even if you were an experinced bee keeper and wanted an opinion from another, there was nothing. I have a few friends that have bees (3 that I know of) and so the idea came up for a new social site for bee keepers. So the idea was born.
I was surprised, but happy to find that when I got up this morning and logged into the site (just to make sure I really did put it online and it was still there) that I already had 2 new members. I am no longer the solo member of the site, woohoo! It is really working.
So, if you are into honey bees go visit www.mybeespace.com.
If you follow my side projects at all at my personal page at myershomesite.com, you will see the bee site move into the active space and something else into the In-Progress Area.
Onto whatever is next….. Have a great weekend.

The flowchart below I think came from the New York Times but I found it on buzzfeed. Amazingly if you remove the Renaissance Faires and change Harry Potter to Lord of the Rings, it is pretty accurate for me.
I got a kick out of it so I just had to post it
